I am way slacking on updating this blog, but lets give a big "YAHOO!" for me actually updating!

The latest news, which is actually old news: I have made my final decision on college!

Yep, the Louisiana Scholars' College at Northwestern State University!
LSC was established in 1987 by then-govenor Edwin Edwards. It is the designated honors college of Louisiana. It's pretty much it's own entity within Northwestern. We have our own curriculum which is composed largely of "Texts and Traditions" classes. The course combines literature and history to give a complete picture of history, philosophy, and culture of western society from ancient Greece to modern day. Through the LSC I will be getting my Bachelors of Science in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Humanities and Social Thought. I haven't decided on my major, but I'm considering broadcast journalism or history. I will definitely be minoring in musical theatre!
(pulled a lot of this info from Wiki ;) )

I was almost completely decided against Northwestern, and I was trying hard to get scholarships from Ole Miss. However, after attending a Scholars Day at NSU I was completely sold. I met so many wonderful people and professors. I was told I would "know" when I visited the campus I would end up choosing, that I would feel like I was truly at home. When I visited the Scholars Day I left knowing I had made my choice and nothing was going to change my mind. A few days after I visited I got a letter from Ole Miss increasing my scholarships, but I didn't even care! I am so in love with LSC that not even Ole Miss can sway me anymore. I feel so at peace now knowing my college plans and feeling completely solid on them. Ahhhh :)

For some reason, the weather is making this song all the more better lately...
